Lab Virtual Medicine

In our Virtual Medicine Lab, students and researchers can develop ideas across medical disciplines and bring them to life in virtual reality (VR). This enables the creation of prototypes for diagnostics, therapy, rehabilitation, and care, supported by flexible spaces and evolving technical infrastructure.

Profile

The Simulation Lab is primarily aimed at users who develop new approaches, products, and market segments in medical and healthcare contexts using virtual and augmented reality.

The Virtual Medicine Lab offers the opportunity to test innovative concepts and solutions in digitally extended realities and to explore the potential of immersive technologies. Dedicated spaces with scalable, needs-based equipment are available for this purpose. Powerful IT infrastructure and a range of VR headsets are already in use. For larger, VR-supported applications, a motion capture system has been installed.

To support the development of custom prototypes for diagnostics, therapy, rehabilitation, and nursing care, the lab is also equipped with a VR fitness device and age simulation suits. The acquisition of haptic feedback systems and state-of-the-art sports rehabilitation equipment is planned.
