Research creates impact

Ideas, technologies and solutions developed through research and study can make an impact beyond the university. The Transfer and Entrepreneurship Office supports students, researchers and staff in developing their projects further and turning knowledge into practical applications.

As part of Department 6 – Research, Transfer and External Funding Services, we are the central point of contact for innovation and startup projects at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg.

We create space for ideas.

You can explore, test and develop your ideas step by step: in the SCIDEA Lab, through workshops and events, or with suitable funding opportunities.

We connect people and open doors.

Whether you are looking for experts, mentors or co-founders: we bring people together and provide opportunities for exchange and collaboration.

We integrate transfer and impact from the start.

Together, we explore different pathways for your project: whether that means developing an impact case, a business model or a commercialisation strategy. Questions around intellectual property are addressed early on.

Our projects

Our ongoing responsibilities include startup support and entrepreneurship education, knowledge and technology transfer, as well as the protection and commercialisation of research results.

Funded projects allow us to strengthen specific areas and develop additional areas of focus. We currently make entrepreneurship a more visible career path, create accessible entry points and foster exchange beyond the university. We also focus on transfer in the context of regional structural change, female entrepreneurship, robotics and digitalisation.

As part of the Just Transition Center (JTC), the Transfer Incubator connects scientific expertise with regional needs and creates opportunities for dialogue, collaboration and knowledge transfer.

In the SCIDEA Lab Robotics and Digitalisation, you can develop ideas hands-on, test technologies and build first prototypes with a particular focus on healthcare and nursing.

Female Entrepreneurship

With SCIDEA Women, we support women interested in starting a business through coaching, mentoring and scholarships, helping them develop their ideas and shape their own path to entrepreneurship.
